Our Story

MZCLA is a creative project rooted in hands-on experiences that bring people together through making, culture, and shared moments.

The name MZCLA comes from mezcla — the idea of mixing cultures, people, traditions, and stories. Founded by a group of friends from different cultural backgrounds, MZCLA reflects the beauty of learning from one another and creating together.

Inspired by Mexican traditions and shaped by the mix we carry, MZCLA designs workshops that feel warm, playful, and human — more like a creative get-together than a formal class. All you need is curiosity and a good mood.

Ximena

I’m Mexican and I’ve been making things with my hands for as long as I can remember. It’s one of my love languages — I show care through handmade details, thoughtful gifts, and creating moments that feel special.

I’m happiest when I’m building something from scratch: designing, cutting, gluing, styling, and making the space feel welcoming.

MZCLA is my way of bringing a little piece of Mexico to Amsterdam — the color, the traditions, and the warmth that feels like home. I want MZCLA to feel like a warm, safe place — where people can slow down, make something beautiful, and leave feeling proud and a little more connected.

Noemi

I’m Ecuadorian, raised between Spain and Ecuador, and I’m a true foodie. For me, food is life — it’s how people connect, slow down, and feel taken care of.

I love cooking to bring friends together: setting the table, putting music on, sharing something warm, and talking about life for hours. I’m always curious about flavors, traditions, and the stories behind what we eat.

I want MZCLA to feel like a safe place — warm, relaxed, and full of the kind of conversations that only happen when there’s good food on the table.
